Window-Eyes will change the refresh setting in IE when it launches, and
then set it back when it's closed. The problem is that you have the
setting set to the opposite of what the default is. So, when Window-Eyes
launches, it sets the setting to how it would normally behave if
Window-Eyes were not running, and when it exits, it sets the setting to
how it would normally behave if Window-Eyes is running.
To work around all of this, I would recommend turning off Window-Eyes,
and then having your wife select the Restore Advanced Settings button in
the Advanced tab of the Internet Explorer Tools -> Options dialog.
