This has been a problem with WE for a long time, at least for me, and was present in Outlook 2003 as well as 2007.

When reading through the list of messages, if I delete a message, the next message that Wineyes speaks is that same message. I have to up arrow or down arrow then up arrow to see what the actual next message is. In some cases, thinking I received two coppies of a message, I have deleted messages I probably shouldn't have according to my bosL Any ideas where this might be coming from? Also, sometimes, wineyes will stop reading the messages in the list and I have to move down the list then back up again to get it to start reading again.
