Hi: Ok, I have a may I say a sound in my windows 7 64 bit computer that I can't identify. There is no problem with the running of the computer, it is just this noise that bugs me. A noise would suggest a problem, but, this sounds like a minor thump, bump, or hollow tapping. If the computer was old, it might be a hard drive failure or heads hitting the drive, but, it is not that. The computer was built, not by me, and not from a box store. All software is running fine, it starts and shut down with no problem Is there something in windows 7 that constantly checks the hard drive? I am running no strange software, just agv virus and malware bytes. The sounds like thump, thump, intermittingly, stops then starts up again. Sorry, it is not a win eyes problem, but, maybe a ghost hunter or polter guist expert may help. Thanks and a smile Don
