Hi George,

A Happy New Year to you.

I am not sure about your first question.

On the second one:

With your Windows 7 disk there is something called Windows Easy Transfer;
once installed it will be in Accessories, System Tools, but it is also made
available in an easy to find place on the disk.

If you put your disk into your old PC and then run that utility, you can
move all of your PC settings to your external hard drive.

Then on the new PC run that utility in reverse, i.e. move your PC settings
etc. from your external hard drive to your new PC.

The utility has enough info on it to get it right and it does work well.

Regards, John

Subject: new computer

Hello list members,

Happy new year. I purchased a new HP desk top computer running Windows 7
home premium on a 64 bit system. My old computer was a Windows XP pro
system on a 32 bit platform. Several questions:

1--can I move the user settings for WE from the old system to the new one, I
have the 64 bit WE disk installed on the new system,

2--how can I move the e mail settings and old favorites from the old
computer to the new one?

I do have an external hard drive that I can plug into both computers. Thank
you for your help.
