Hello all,
While I know I could and do, at times, send SMS messages directly from my phone, it is much easier to do so via a PC keyboard. There is a Script which allows a user to send an SMS message from the PC to a cell phone. However, you need to know the supplier for the recipient number, which is often not known. With Outlook 2003 / 2007 there is an Add-on available on the Microsoft Download site which provides for direct SMS messages from Outlook itself via a connected cell phone. I used to use that with success when on that version of Office. On Outlook 2010 the above add-on does not seem to be available. There appears to be 2 methods of producing SMS messages from Outlook 2010. The first that MS suggests is available if your host is an Exchange server, which mine is not. The second involves purchasing SMS services from a third party provider to carry out the SMS service remotely. I don't really want to pay for the service. I have a Nokia phone with Nokia PC Suite for syncing to my PC. With Nokia PC Suite the ability to send SMS messages from the PC exists, but is more than a little inaccessibile. Although some bits appear to work when I tried to "send" the SMS it did not appear to work. The screen itself cannot be seen with WE, only those areas which are tabbed to. Does anyone have any suggestionss / advice please?
