I think people worry too much about version numbers in programs. *smile*
Does anyone use Dropbox or CDex? Take CDex for example, it's been around
for over 10 years and is not even at version 2. This is because as a new
release comes out, the developers don't tag on larger version
increments. They don't need to because CDex stands on its own when you
use it and seeing how good it is, who cares what version number it has,
really. Just think of how many numbers there are between, oh, let's say
7.2 and 8.0. As an example, 7.21 7.22 7.23 7.24 ....... 7.97 7.98 7.99
8.00. And that is not even touching on the 7.3 7.4 7.5 7.6 7.7 and 7.8
increments. Look at how many releases might come out before people get
the asked for version 9 in this thread.
I'm just saying, don't judge a program based on how big the version
number jumps up. The changes between CDex 1.5 and 1.7 are rather
significant and yet the increment is not too large. After version 6.1 of
Window-Eyes came out and we were working toward Window-Eyes 7, which had
not yet been given a number, I had suggested version 6.66, but the
marketing department exorcised that idea. So they went with 7.0 instead.
*grin*
Cheers!

Never mind 8 or 9, lets wait for version 12. WE needs to catch up with JAWS.

I can tell you this: It will be a long time from now, because version 8 hasn't
even come out yet.
