supporting UIA means that a lot of man power hours went in to rnd and a lot of code was updated. making updates to the scripting system allowing for easier scripting means yet again lots of rnd and man power hours. a complete over hall of the control panel again lots of code man power hours and lots of rnd to figure out what the best approach would be. it seems to me this upgrade warrants payment. also consider the fact that this is the first upgrade in the last few years. so we have had quite a few updates so it seems a upgrade is in order. I suspect but don't know that this will be a half sma count and a half upgrade. so it will probably cost 75 bucks to upgrade verses the 150 and the sma count will be haved. this is what happened between 5.5 and 6.0. so going buy the usual pattern gw micro uses in these cases this is what will probably happen. this seems quite fair and no one else does things this way. trust me your getting your moneys worth.

Now that it has been explained why it was done the way it was it makes sense. I hope it does not take another year to get brose mode fixed. I dont know that this should be a paid upgrade.
