Mike, I'm not sure why this would change with the beta unless you put Window-Eyes in the Notification area, but if you press SPACE on the Notification Area "chevron", usually the first thing in the list, It will expand to show all items and Safely Remove Hardware should be there. Under Windows 7, it has been my experience, though, that pressing the letter "S" doesn't always get past the first item starting with "S". There is a way to Customize this area, to determine which items always show, but I have not figured out which choice affects Safely Remove Hardware.
