I agree with you especially the stability.
Outlook is running much faster, and thus far, I am quite pleased. Sam Bushman's first review of the Window Eyes 7.5 beta 1. The download didn't work the first time or two had to get it again. Wasn't sure what was happening when validating my serial number it took a long time. So far I have had one time I couldn't go in to the we control pannel but, a reboot fixed it. Also one time IE8 crashed and I had to reboot to get speech back. The browse mode hasn't been touched ... I mention this because people are asking about it but, we were told that from the beginning. So, no news here. Now that the above is out of the way let's talk about the best version of Window Eyes I have ever had. Now this is saying something because I have been with GWMicro since the Vocal Eyes 2.x days. Oh, yes! Stability is back my friends and this is only the first beta. since we is much more stable things are better for every aspect of the program in my opinion. Here is what I noticed right off. 1. The getting started wizzard is fantastic ... new users will love the eas of getting set up and understanding what they are doing right from the start. 2. The tree view interface replacing the menu structure is excellent! Much easier to use and understand exactly what you are changing and much easier to find what you are looking for. I especially love the clarity regarding the global and local scope of changes that can be made. I also love that the speech settings can be locked together meaning I can quickly change all three voices for screen, keyboard and mouse all at once. 3. Scripts now called Apps are much more polished and the interface is much easier to navigate. When we start getting the user comments added to the Apps real feedback on apps can take place. This will be great to help us decide if we want to try/use a certain App. 4. The manual treeview and the settings treeview almost mirror each other creating a logical way to look up any thing in the manual. If you ask me this is huge! 5. I know this seems like a small item but, the caps-lock and second insert keys now can be used as the modifier key for WE keystrokes. This again in my view is huge. Lots more key combinations can be hit and it can be done much more naturally. Also the default keyboard layout is now quite usable on a laptop or keyboard you aren't use to.
