Hi John,
I have had this situation in the past and this is what you can try.

With the absence of any means to remove the file, more than likely the file has already been deleted. The system has probably backed up the infected file in the restore section of your drive and this is why it can't be deleted easily but shows up in the scan. If you turn off the restore facility and reboot your system, all the backed up files should be deleted and the infected file removed.

Do another scan and see what happens. If the infected file has gone, turn on the restore facility and reboot.

If this does not work then maybe someone else can offer a suggestion.
