Hi Tom, and all,
Thank you very much for your suggestion about turning off the read-to-me
app. I tried this with several programs and it seems to have taken care
of the problem.

I had this issue starting yesterday. I found that when Read-To-End
finished, or if I stopped the reading at any point,
Window-Eyes failed to speak. Window-Eyes was still running because I
could hear the Window-Eyes sounds when I Alt-Tabbed to the Control
Panel. The only way to fix this was to use the Kill Wineyes script and
restart it. I soon figured out it was not only happening in E-mail but
with all types of read to end in all programs. After experimenting
with unloading anti-virus and other programs, I started checking
scripts. I found that when the Read-To-Me script was running that
Read-To-End with Control+Shift+r didn't work properly. When I disabled
the script, it did. I also found that when scripting status was off
that Read To End worked as expected. So, if you tried the Read-To-Me
script, I suggest you remove it for now.

Subject: read to end really strange
Okay, this is really unusual. I have tried this in both Word
2007 and Thunderbird messages. I am running WE beta and Win7, 64-bit.
I can type info into Word or in a Thunderbird message and use
read-to-end it works fine. Once it has finished reading, however, WE
will no longer speak. I have tried different things like closing the
programs. Just for a test, I loaded one of my BlindGamers games and
closed it. Once I closed the game, WE started speaking again. The
BG game uses MS Anna. I also loaded NVDA, and speech worked for that
program, but once I closed it, WE did not speak. I then opened the
BG game again and closed it, returning speech to WE. I am using VW
Paul for both WE and NVDA.
