Christo,

This is a HomerShared object bug. The reason it came out in the beta is we perform more parameter validation then we did in the past. With pre-7.5 what Jamal used was allowed but not technically correct and we are not flagging that. All this is to of course increase stability and performance of all Window-Eyes Apps. I will inform Jamal and I'm sure he will update his App.

In the mean time, it is an easy fix <smile>.

If you open up homersharedobject.vbs in an editor and go to line 2815 (or search for "sValue = oTargetIni.text(sSection, sKey, vbNull)" then change that line to simply be:

sValue = oTargetIni.text(sSection, sKey)

In other words kill the common and the vbNull. Save the file and restart the App or shut down and restart Window-Eyes and the problem is resolved.

Remember that the Apps are run in the following dir:

%appdata%\gw micro\window-eyes\users\default

Notice the percent signs around appdata.

Regards,
Doug

Subject: DBDialog app crashes under 7.5 beta 1

Hello

Not sure if this is GW Micro's or Jamal's issue, but unfortunately the
DBDialog app crashes every time as soon as I run it under Wineyes 7.5 beta 1. I hope someone can address this, as I now have a substantial amount of
data stored in DBDialog.

Kind regards

Christo
