I experienced a lot of that until I turned off completely the Windows Update
stuff. Eset's Nod32 does a nice job of letting me know when those updates
are available without being intrusive.

Subject: Silence is not golden!

There are no error messages so I can't help pinpoint the problem.
Window-Eyes 7.2 and 7.5 halts speaking very often, even while just reading a
Word 2010 doc. Some times the speech returns after a few seconds or a
minuite or so. Other times, I must close the laptop lid to enter Sleep Mode,
reopen the lid and hope speech will resume. Some times it does not, and I
must power off.
