Hi Chris and all.
Updated to service pack 1 this morning. Absolutely no problems here. The
idea here is that all the updates from the original release are bundled
in one package, with no new changes in functionality. There's not even
new support for the latest hardware. Quite amazing if you ask me, since
Vista's service packs had major changes and it's still not the perfect
OS compared to XP or 7.
Take care.

I am still on XP, but my personal policy on service packs is to wait a
bit and let others find out if any major bugs slipped through. Usually
you are safe with such major updates that have been tested and retested
before release, but since service packs often contain some very major,
sometimes even fundamental changes, I always play it on the paranoid
side. If this pack works out well, I will finally begin saving for the
hardware updates I need to move to 7, I always wait for at least the
first service pack before moving to a new OS unless I buy a new PC that
comes with the newer Os.
If you do the update, let us know if there are any changes that are good
or bad for accessibility. Often, I've noticed that there are some
positive accessibility changes with service packs.

Chris

See a Windows 7 S{P1 update in my updates from Microsoft today. Should
this be installed?
