Robert,

it's a good question, and I don't know the answer.

But one thing I should point out is that it's better to force lines to be
lined up, than it is to see if they are, and then if they don't look lined
up, then space or tab over until they do.

this means learning how to use tabs, or justification, indents, and that
kind of thing which will force it.

I'm going to look at adding this as a hotkey to my MS Word script though.

oh, one more thing, there is a window-eyes command which tells you where
your cursor is on the screen; it would sort of help you in judging if two
lines are lined up, by seeing if you move the cursor to the start of each
line, if the pixel values this command gives you are the same. I believe is
control and numberpad plus.

hth,

Chip

When trying to line up text in the middle of a page, the status line says
column 28 on the beginning of the writing on both lines. But my sighted
daughter says they weren't lined up.

I had to put the 2nd line on column 36 to make it line up with the line
above which the status line says column 28.

Why?

What can I do to be able to rely on the info on the status line?

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3
seconds."
I bought her a bathroom scale.
