Hi,

I'm not running the homer layout myself, but have had this situation where you need to type slowly into an edit box in ie 8, otherwise you drop characters as you type. This has been happening with version 7.2 and the beta 7.5. Some web page edit boxes , give me this problem, some do not. I've not been able to figure it out. Sometimes I am wondering if I have some google toolbar running or some other weird search system and that's getting in the way. I get this bing thing, but I don't know what that's all about and if it matters. But definately, this happens in some webpages, such as google.com, and no homer layout here.

James,

We have not seen this in either 7.2 or 7.5. I have heard reports that if you are running, or have run, the Homer Layout, this is a common symptom while dealing with edit boxes in browse mode. If you have, then uninstall it and restore your set files to the factory defaults to be sure you are running a clean Window-Eyes profile. If the problem continues, then let us know.

Regards,
Steve

Although I am thankful the work around of typing in notepad and copy
and paste is really not that hard, so I don't consider it a limiting
issue, it is absolutely maddening that Window-Eyes, at least 7.2,
insists on dropping so many characters so often when typing in an edit
field on a web form. Could someone, without speculation, kindly tell
me what it is that causes this extremely annoying issue? It takes
longer to proof read and edit something than it does to type it
because WE insists on doing this crap so often. As many issues as the
7.5 beta has reported to be problematic at this point, I will not
touch that short of it being on a secondary machine if I did at his
point and I hope they are fixed in the release. Sounds like quite the
mess at this point.
