Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions, when I was trying to
activate links on a particular
website. I had copied the link for the page from an e-mail, and failed to
notice that it
was followed by a period. The site still loaded, but the links didn't work.
Once the unwanted punctuation was removed, everything
worked properly. I thought I'd mention this, in case someone else runs into
a similar situation.

I find it is much more accurate if I route the mouse pointer to the link
when out of browse mode. You can also try insert+tab while you are on
the link then tab to the activate link button. sometimes this also
works.
