Hi, if anything changes focus while you are reading, the browse mode
buffer might refresh. If it does, it might explain what you are
experiencing. Remember that when the message first loads, the browse
mode invisible cursor is set at the top. If you use page down to read,
then it will move down. maybe you can set TB to not notify you of new
messages so it only plays a sound since the visual notification wouldn't
be needed.
many thanks.

I have been having a problem with my emails reading part of the way
through and then they just start over at the top. I have all of the
refresh settings (that I am familiar with) set to never refresh.
Sometimes, it happens within the first 30 seconds, but this time, I was
reading a very long message and it did not refresh until about 3 or 4
minutes into the reading. This particular message had 192 links and
three tables. There were no headings or lists, etc. I can't put my
finger on anything that has changed except that I installed IE9
candidate. I wouldn't think this should have any effect on Thunderbird,
though. I am running Thunderbird 3.1.7 and my computer is a 64-bit
Windows7 Home Premium and I have been running the WE beta since it was
first released. The problem has only been happening for maybe a week or
less. I would appreciate any ideas. Short messages aren't that bad if I
have to start over, but long ones with many pages takes me a while to
find my place again.
Thanks.
Carol
