Hi,

 

In an HTML message, and I have Outlook set to use Word as the default
editor, I just do a colon and a close parenthesis and, I'm told, a smiley
face  is there.  I don't know if this happens because Word is the default
editor, or because the message is sent as HTML.  Of course, folks who have
their email client set to read all messages as plain text only see the colon
and the close parenthesis.
