You may not need to uninstall Internet Explorer, but you may wish to choose Firefox a the default browser.
I have Explorer v9 and Firefox on my two Windows Seven machines, and find them both as about the same in terms of stability. They both crash. I currently feel that in conjunction with Window-eyes v7.5, Internet Explorer is marginally more stable, and it is a great deal faster than Firefox. The real difference for me is that individual browsers treat specific web sites differently, and I cannot make up my mind which browser is better. My online banking site works better with Internet Explorer, but an on demand radio feed that i frequently access is better with Firefox. However: uninstalling Explorer and the steps to follow will depend upon which operating system you use. With Windows Seven it will be within "programme features" and for other systems it will be within add-remove programmes. Both methods are linked to the control panels of the operating systems, and I am sure that specific help for your specific system is available from other list members if you need it. All the best.
