I know that when Quicktime is installed for the first time, it does ask
you which filetypes you want it to play, and if you want it to be your
default media player. Otherwise, you should go into START
MENU/PROGRAMS/QUICKTIME and poke around and see if there is a
preferences tab. i have Quicktime on two computers, and it doesn't
interfere with anything. I believe that Quicktime is required if you
want to listen to or view iTunes content, such as their podcasts, radio
streams, etc.

Subject: iTunes and window-eyes

Because I recently purchased an apple iPhone, I had to install iTunes.
The problem is that I installed Apple's quicktime player as part of the
setup. The question is this? Is the quicktime player required? The
problem is that the player prohibited me from being able to download
podcasts that I like. It also caused an error with winamp. Before Jeff
asks, I forgot the error and what it says. I know that quicktime was
the culprit because uninstalling the app brought things back to normal
meaning that I was able to download my podcasts. If quicktime is
required, is their a way to keep it from interfering with being able to
download files. I'm sorry about the long post.

Any help or pointers with respect to the iTunes situation would be
appreciated.
