Hello Ted, we don't automagically update the factory sets because we
don't know if you have spent countless hours tweaking one of them to
suit your needs. This could be something as small as a dictionary
change, or as large as rewriting the program help with careful notes.
So to answer your other question, if you have not made any changes to
the sets to customize them and just want the factory sets as we ship
them, choose yes to the prompts, and you will next have to check the
check box to apply your answer to all sets otherwise you will be asked
the same question for each. The same is true for the help text,
dictionaries, ETC. You will have to choose the replace button along with
the check box to apply it to all dictionary files or whatever.
Hope this helps.

Dear List:
I have window-eyes 7.5 with windows xp.
If I go to Factory Settings in the Window-Eyes control panel and then tab to the update
out dated button, it has check boxes saying "apply your choice to all sets."
Should I leave them unchecked or should I check them? What happens either way? And,
related to that, when exactly would I need to un install and then again install one of
these factory set files? The versions to a lot of my factory set files are out of date.
Why does Window-Eyes not update these set files automatically at each upgrade? Thanks
for any explanation to these questions. Regards: Ted Larson
