Carol and/or Roger,

If you get a private answer about increasing the mike boost, please forward it to me. I have a sound blaster as well, different version, but a similar problem with a particular application.

I am running Windows7 Home Premium with a Dell desktop. I have followed the steps in the article, but I do not have an enhanced pane. Does this mean anything? My sound card is a SoundBlaster X Fi Streme. That may not be written correctly, but that is the way it is pronounced.. Also, since we are talking about sound cards, I also don't seem to have the setting for boosting microphone levels. Do you have any ideas about how I can get my mic level increased? When I log in to the webinars, I am told I can be heard, but my volume is very low. My level is set to 100% and I have the mic about one-half to one inch away from my mouth. I don't like being that close as I am afraid I will bump the mic. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Carol

Jim,

Ensure audio enhancements are disabled for your sound card. You can learn more on how to do this at http://www.gwmicro.com/kb1121.

Why, when I switch synthasizers, does Window-Eyes 7.5 not speak readily?
The last two times I had to restart my machine. I’m using a laptop with
Windows 7, Home Premium 64-bit machine. Thanks. Jim in Detroit
