I would check for tool bars and other things that can do strange things to your
computer. It could be that your home page got hi-jacked.

Which h version of IE is the most stable with Window-Eyes 7.5?
i'm receiving messages like "white with background shade of blue" for example.
Not sure what this is referring to and why such messages are being read. This
hasn't happened before.
