Good morning, After yesterday's message to the list I completely uninstalled WE 7.5 from the machine using the ADD REMOVE utility. I also was reading the other messages on the list and saw the messages about the visual studio that was giving some problems. I did run the vc*****86 2010 file. This is xp sp 3.
A brand new install resulted in a script error right off the bat. I sent in the error with out stopping the app. I then did stop the app. This happened while the quick setup wizard was open. Once I stopped the script and sent the error the wizard was gone. I looked for it but ended up just setting the screen voice through the control panel. I then opened a document that was already created in 2000. This machine is running the office 2007 as a trial. The soft ware wants me to register it. I tell it later and the document opens very slowly. The document does open in compatibility mode. I don't know what that means, or if it has anything to do with how WE is behaving. The voice does not respond very well at all. arrowing down the document the response is at least a beat or two slow. I didn't go through all the settings to turn off the blank lines during read to end but when I pressed the read to end the curser was WAAAAY a head of the voice. I had visual conformation of this. When I stopped the read to end it was no ware near the last thing I heard out of WE. What is wrong with this install? This is eloquence read as the synth. I have the rate set at 51 and the rate is fine only the response time is too slow. What can I do now? I don't want to install this on my machine if I can't keep my set files and it is going to be slower than molasses in January. What should I check next. There doesn't appear to be anything else running except for the sonic wall and word 2007 and we 7.5. The same things would be running on my machine too. I would probably have even more things running at one time. I would probably also have the accounting program running, along with outlook express. These are typically the things I have running. Oh and I change the display colors on my machine,to high contrast black, I didn't bother with the trial machine it is running the windows classic color mode if that will mess with this version of WE. Any thing else to do?? I had 7.2 installed on another machine and then installed 7.5 on top of it. I prefer the eloquence read voice as my synth. The speech response is slow. It lags behind key presses. I was reading the New Manual, the voice control panel and the app central website, and a word doc, all had poor responsiveness. Do I have to do a CLEAN install to make this work right? it is on a Dell XP machine with nearly the same specs as my work station. I tried it out on the other machine because I have some custom set files on my machine that I don't want to lose. I don't remember how I set them all up any more. If I have to un install and then install the 7.5 from scratch is there a way to copy my 7.2 set files that I made and then use them or insert them in the 7.5 version once I have it installed? I wanted to get a handle on the new 7.5 before I get office 2010 installed next week. I thought trying to get used to too many new programs at once might be a bit much. Thanks for any advise.
