Hi Louis.
The software provides, amongst the other features, a unique wizard that will create the virtual hard disk, format it, and install a supported operating system and add it to your boot manager. Whilst the Microsoft tools can set up this environment for you, it requires booting from the operating system installation DVD, which of course means no speech output. Leap Frog assists you in doing this, and does not actually provide this feature, known as native VHD boot. There are many advantages over disadvantages, the main one being that only your hard disk is virtualized; the rest of your system is using the physical hardware and its drivers. Therefore the performance compared to running an operating system inside a virtual machine is negligible (about a 3% decrease).
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Well, I have to admit, the message below sounded intriguing, if not too
informative, so I went to the suggested Website and took a quick look around.
Can't say I know any more now, than I knew after reading the message, though.
What are you supposed to be able to do with this leap frog thing? And/or, what
advantages or benefits would I get from it? In fact, I can't figure out what
this software does. Sorry. Guess I'm pretty dense. Curious, though!

Subject: A message and a question

Hello all.
I just want to congratulate GW Micro for collaborating with Microsoft
for training and to make their products accessible to us Window-Eyes users.
Now, talking of Microsoft, how well does Window-Eyes work with Windows
Server 2008 R2? Most importantly, if I stick the Window-Eyes 7.5 CD into
my computer, will the setup program start the audio service for me and
set the type to automatic? It certainly does for earlier versions of
Window-Eyes, hence my question.
You may be interested to know that I am running this from a VHD file, or
virtual hard disk, a file resembling data that would be stored on a
physical disk. There is a commercial program, Portlock Leap Frog, which
can assist in setting up such an environment, called native VHD Boot.
www.portlock.com is the website and the program works very well with
Window-Eyes.
Many thanks.
Take care.
