Hi. The reason that the update dialog came up is because I use I e 9. When I tried to exit the site, the update dialog came up as it should have in this case. If an app is not installed globally, that is, it only runs when a particular program is running, you won't find it in the app manager dialog unless the particular program is running, as in Internet Explorer 9. Pastor Gil helped point this particular situation out in word for example.
