this is a app bug as far as i am concerned.
if you use the app get, go into the view pull down and change it to only
show outdated. then press f5 to refresh the screen then it would show the
outdated apps you have installed that will not be detected in the add remove
app dialog.

At least on my system the problem with the message popping up stating
that at least on of the apps was out of date was resolved by finally
finding that the IE enhanced app was out of date. The update all
function in the add/remove app did not detect that this app was out of
date.
