Hi Dave, iTunes is definitely usable with WindowEyes. It has some glitches, and isn't the most friendly application I have seen, but it most definitely works. I have used an iPod Touch for the last year and a half and just got an iPhone about a month ago and it all works fine with WindowEyes. WindowEyes on the computer of course and the built-in VoiceOver on the Touch and iPhone. As for having no choice about using iTunes, that is not strictly speaking true. It is my understanding that you can "jail break" the Touch and then use other methods of putting your music on it. I have not done this and there are pros and cons to doing that but that is not a subject for this list. If you take a little time to understand iTunes and how WE works with it, you will be fine.
Good luck, Scott -----Original Message----- From: Dave bahr [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, May 02, 2011 8:46 PM To: [email protected] Subject: ipod and itunes, Hi list, Ok, i know, it's a generic subject. But I'm going off to new york for an internship, anyone in Schenectady here? And have realized that I am behind the times, and don't have an ipod touch. I feel out of the loop. But the reason i'm posting this here is that I'm kind of confused. I know that there is an itunes ap, but I had thought that itunes in its latest version wasn't accessible? Forgive my ignorance on this topic, I have avoided itunes because I have my own library system, and I didn't want to use it for my ipod, but maybe i have no choice now? I guess i feel like I'm floundering and could use some guidance as to what to do with an ipod touch, itunes, and window-eyes. I apologize if this is in the off topic realm, if so please let me know off list, i suppose. -- thanks, I'm open to feedback, and I hate being ignorant. Dave C.
