Hi, with all Office programs closed, go to the Window-Eyes control panel
and press alt-f, then F. this brings up the factory settings dialog.
Arrow to Office 2000 and press alt-i to install the Office 2000 sets.
Answer all the prompts and then when the factory settings dialog comes
up again press escape twice. Now start Excel again and see if this makes
a difference. Also note that we have not tested Office 2000 extensively
because it's not used as much today.
Many thanks.

I installed WE 7.5 today. The only change I made was to put WE into the
sys tray, and I've since put it back like it was. I have a simple
spreadsheet that I use for my budget in Excel from Office 2000. Until
today it's been working fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't read
right if the set file needed to be updated or maybe the program needed
to be maximized. The problem is that, when I run it, it says Excel
"budget.xls" and it sounds like May 1, which is not the system date.
There is no spreadsheet there, according to WE. At first I can at least
get to the menu bar and menus, but as soon as I try to maximize it, in
case it's not already, or Alt-Tab away and back again to be sure I'm on
what I thought I was, there is no application open at all. When I do
Control-Alt-Delete, there is no application on the list, well that is
when WE was in the sys tray, otherwise WinEyes was on the list. I have
opened this file several times with my Start menu shortcut and by
pressing Enter on the file itself. I have restarted WE and have even
rebooted the computer. The setting as far as I read it should boot up
with WE running, but I had to start it with Control-Alt-W to get it going.
Anyone have any idea why Excel would be unreadable and unusable and then
close as if I'd never opened it? Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Marilyn
