Sue,
If all you want is Word and you're satisfied with it you should be able to
run the installer from Add/Remove, use the change option, and remove the
components you're not using. It's like using the custom install option when
Office was installed. I'm not sure how accessible it is though because I
haven't used it in years.
Hth,
Tom

Sue,
We are working on improving our Open Office and Lotus Symphony support,
but it isn't where we would like it yet. With that said, if your sole
interest is in switching to save disk space, the Symphony directory on my
test machine is about 600 MB, not counting the Java runtime that is
required.

Steve

Hello. I was wondering has anyone downloaded open office or lotus
symphony? I do like msword, but would like to uninstall office 2003
since it does take up a lot of room on my hard drive. Which one will
work better with WE? I really don't use office 2003 that much, and it
sure would be nice to get this software off my hard drive since it takes
up 637 MB of space. I would like to use something other then office 2003
since a lot of the software I don't use such as publisher, or excel, or
power point. So if I were to download a file or if someone were to send
me a file I still want to have another piece of software that does not
take up a lot of room but still does a pretty good job in accessing the
files. So which one will work better Open office or LS? Thanks.
