That's the nature of technology. Everybody wants to know what is coming next. 
However, whether it is too early to discuss Windows 8 or not depends on your 
definition of early. I know it seems like Windows 7 is still brand new, but 8 
is supposed to be released sometime next year and has already had at least two 
developmental versions leak out onto the internet, so while it still has room 
for a lot of changes, it is not really that far off and it is likely that 
Microsoft is already doing work with a lot of third party companies that work 
with them when a new version is on its way. Now as to whether or not anyone 
working with Microsoft can say much without tripping over an NDA is another 
matter.
