Hi Bud

Windows 7 is a tiny bit different but it's not so different that you won't recognize it at all. The major change is your start menu, it comes up as a search box. so instead of hitting the start menu key and then hitting p for programs and then finding the program you want, all you do in windows 7 is start typing the first few letters of the program you want to open, and window-eyes will speak what pops up. Don't worry, if that's not the way you like to do things you can still use the start menu, and the windows desktop will still have icons and things, so it's not that much different. where you may run into a real difference is if you use microsoft office, and windows word pad. both have this new ribbon menu, but luckily, window-eyes handles that pretty well too. so you'll have a bit of adjusting to do, but like I mentioned it's not so bad once you get used to the tiny little differences.

Hi Gang,

My old Dell desktop seems to be on it's last leg so I am going to replace it with something similar. I don't know if xp is still available, but I'm familiar with it and like it. My question is if I do go to windows seven, how different is it from xp? At my age it's getting more difficult to learn new things. Any suggestions?
Thanks..
