First, if this problem is something you can duplicate, please send us
your users\default profile so that we can investigate here. So far, four
people have sent us their profiles, claiming to have the issue, but we
have not been able to duplicate the problem here in the office. It's
possible that the issue has already been resolved for the next
Window-Eyes update.
Second, each individual app has the ability to check for updates on
launch. You can configure this by selecting an app in the App Manager,
and then pressing Alt-H for the Help and Options dialog. At least,
that's true for all GW Micro apps. For other apps, please consult the
app's documentation.

I check my apps very nearly every day, so the alerts aren't all that
useful to me anyway. Now the problem of the alerts going off when
there is no actual update available is turning this feature into a
truly aggravating annoyance. I tried stopping the App Get app and the
Window Eyes update app, but no luck. If there is a way to turn off
this malfunctioning feature I would like to know. If there is no way,
then there needs to be. I am having a heck of a time getting anything
done with the alert stealing focus over and over while I am trying to
type or navigate through pages or documents.
Thanks,
Chris
