Vic, could you have outlook's preview pane turned on? this will cause extra unwanted speech as you arrow between messages. I too have outlook 2003 open all day, and go into Word frequently (all under xp), and don't have these issues, so thought it could be a difference in my outlook settings verses yours? the other possibility is that outlook isn't maximized (I used the window manager app from GW to insure it's always maximized, and that any message I open is always maximized). hth, Chip

I keep Outlook 2003 open all day. As soon as I open a Word document with Word 2003, We 7.5 goes wonky. For example in moving up and down the list of messages in my inbox We does not read them any longer, it just reads one as if it is in a buffer of some kind. Also If I open the insert file or open file dialogue WE does not read the contents of the file list unless I press a read current line hot key every time I move the cursor up or down. The only work around I have is to turn off WE and load it again. The good news is that this now puts Window-Eyes on par with a major competitor's text to speech application (smile).
