Mine started automatically without any difficulty from the first time I used it
until I got an Amazon Cloud Player account. Now I get an error message and have
to enter the Cloud player and download from there, but before that, the
downloader would come up after I purchased. One thing that may have been
different in my case, I kept the setting where I had to confirm each purchase
before it was completed to prevent an accidental purchase. When I clicked on
the buy button for a song or album, Firefox would take me to the confirmation
page and once I clicked on confirm, the downloader would come up and the
download would begin without me needing to do anything. I don't know of any
possible differences in settings. I changed the defaults to automatically add
tracks to my iTunes library and to download tracks to a folder named Amazon MP3
on my D: drive because I keep files I purchase from different sites separate
from those I rip myself, and those are the main settings changes I made. This
is with Windows XP SP3 and with Firefox. But, as I said, the automatic
downloading went away with my use of the Cloud player. I wish I could get it
back, but I also think having all of my purchases automatically backed up
without counting against the 5 Gb of free storage they give is worth the extra
effort. But the point of this is that, unless one is using the Cloud player,
automatic downloading should be workeable with at least some setups unless
they've broken it with a recent update. As for how long the automatic downloads
worked for me, I started using the Amazon MP3 store pretty much as soon as they
opened it, so quite some time.

Regards,

Chris

No. The downloader does not start automatically.

After choosing an album on the web site, and after finding “buy” and pressing
enter, I am unsure of the best way to find the download link. I assume that
the downloader will start at that point, but perhaps am supposed to start it
manually first, I am unsure.

I recently came across and listened
to a demonstration of window eyes and jaws accessing and downloading MP3s
from Amazon and using the MP3 album downloader. In converting the jaws section
to W E equivalents, I managed to get something wrong. Unfortunately I can no
longer locate the demonstration. Anyone have a link for the demonstration by
Anna Dresner of using the Amazon MP3 album downloader?
