HI list, Before I call GW Support, I thought I'd start with the list to see if anyone has a similar issue. I'm sure I'd utterly confuse my company's tech support team if I called with this one.
I have a docking station I use with my company laptop. I pop my laptop out to take to meetings to take notes. I've noticed in the last couple months that, when I release the laptop from the docking station, WE stops speaking anything except the Title bar on programs and the mouse clicks I make. This was not the case before. I use a 19 inch monitor at my desk, so I'm guessing this has to do with WE changing focus on which screen is in focus. I've tried various combinations of leaving the laptop closed or open when undocking, with the same result. Putting the laptop back in the docking station does not restore WE. I've tried closing WE and reopening it, but that doesn't fix the issue. My next work-around is to see if I can find a "Kill WE" script, with hopes that that will at least let me do a fresh restart of W. Right now, the only fix I've found is to log off of Windows completely. This is inconvenient and time consuming when going between meetings. I upgraded to WE 7.2 in the fall and don't recall having this issue immediately after the upgrade, which leads me to question if there could be a Windows update that impacted the change. Our company pushes down the Windows updates automatically, so I don't know when and what is done. Wish I could pin point when this started happening, but I was on maternity leave for a couple months and noticed it sometime after my return. I'm on an HP laptop. We are using Windows XP. I don't know which service pack we're on, but if someone can remind me how to look that up, I can get that info, too. I'm using the updated version of WE 7.2. Any thoughts from the computer savvy listers? _________________________________ Robin Van Lant Sr. Strategic Services Program Manager Key Equipment Finance Tel: 720-304-1060 Email Classification: KeyCorp Public </pre> This communication may contain privileged and/or confidential information.
