Yes, mine will open the icon also if the slash is tapped twice in quick succession. It is only if it is tapped once will WE say edit and only then if both the cursor key and the mouse pointer are on the same icon. If the cursor and pointer are located separately, the first tap moves the cursor to the mouse pointer and the second tap willcause WE to say edit. Pressing escape will quit the edit box.

It is very strange behaviour but there it is.
Neville.

I placed my mouse on firefox and pressed the slash and it opened

rename edit box to open with the slash key. This is interesting.

Hi Listers,
Using WE HP 32 WE 7.5

Has anyone come accross this strange problem or is it just my system?

While on the Desktop, if an icon is selected with the num pad keys,
say Firefox, then pressing the left click key once will open an edit
box. From this edit box, the name of the icon can be changed. It is
like F2 had been pressed on the icon.

Pressing the slash or left click twice will open the icon as it should.

This has only commenced in the past few days. This has been tested
with WE not loaded and with NVDA but the edit box does not open.

Although WE says edit box and it functions as an edit box, the edit
box is not visible on the screen.

Anybody got any comments or suggestions?
Thanks
Neville.
