John, I recently tried to read an eBook with version 1.72 of Adobe Digital Editions and didn't have any luck. I went to the Adobe site to see what they were saying about the accessibility of the program. They promise that version 2 of the program will be accessible with the major screen readers, but they didn't give a release date. I read a comment from a disappointed user on the site who said they had been promising an accessible version for the past 2 years. Maybe our only hope is for a university to choose Adobe Digital Editions for their eBook reader. Then the Justice Department could file a lawsuit against Adobe to hurry them along. I seem to recall something similar happening with the Kindle.
