Hi - if you haven't gotten the answer on this yet, here it is. The option is on the Format Menu under the Paragraph option. Tab till you hear "line spacing". My favorite quick way to do it, though, is to select the text I want, then hit Control plus the number 1, 2 or 5 keys on the main keyboard. 1 does single spacing, 2 does double spacing and 5 does one and a half times spacing. It might be helpful to know that visually, the extra white space is created just below the line your cursor is on.
