Dave,

Unfortunately, most modern VST plugins are designed to be pretty and manipulated solely with the mouse. If you have sighted assistance available, this may be an area where the Hot Spot app could help you.

Something else worth investigating is if you have these problems with another host, e.g. the free VST Host program from http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm. This would at least tell us if the problem is with the plugin itself or the host application.

Regards,
Steve

Hi there,

So, my latest venture into hitherto uncharted territory is Adobe
Audition. I still haven't figured out how to select bits of audio, but
my main concern is this. I downloaded some effects vst plugins to test
them out, and they are really not accessible. I get a lot of "custom
control" and occasionally, if I route the pointer to that I get a label
of what is a button I'd guess. However, I need to find the load button
to load this effect's presets. Apparently, in the manual it says to
click and hold the load button until a menu comes up where you can
define presets.

Now, why did I put reclass in the subject line? Because I tried to maybe
reclass these windows as different things to see if I could find the
load button. As a button, it found a few other things but no load
button. I also tried moving by clip, heard a lot of, graphic, but
nothing else. Doing an auto label of the graphics yielded simply a help
icon.

The plugins, waves 7 if anyone's curious, don't just load the factory
presets and there's not a way I can get to them.

One last thing, in the custom control dialogues of other adobe-specific
plugins such as the pitch correction, there is not really a good way to
modify, well, anything. It's hard to tweak a sound when you can't find
out what's there and finding a preview button is next to impossible. But
there's no point in finding said button if nothing from the vst plugin
can be modified. Please note, the effects that rely on property sheets
work fine but reclassing a vst plugin as a property sheet does nothing.

So, I am definitely open for suggestions on this one, perhaps there's a
type of window I do not know how to use? I'm on a laptop and don't know
how to do a screen shot with this keyboard.
