Could it be a problem with the video intercept driver? Maybe use
that utility to disable/enable it?
Just a thought,
Cory

Given that I'm an advanced Windows 7 user; been at it for about 6
hours now, it works exactly as you say, Jim, and as I would expect. No
different than my XP system. And the mouse isn't tracking anything
either. It stays still regardless of whatever else I do in an Explorer
window. Of course the windows are different than in XP, but not in
this respect. Perhaps it's a setting in Explorer. Unfortunately the
answer eludes me at the moment. Guess I'm losing the touch. <grin>

Thanks for your reply Carol.
I have tried using the WE cursor but unfortunately the we cursor does
not work any better on my system. The only way around the problem I
have found, is to use the mouse search function with control shift f.
This works but is a bit of a pain.
I have mentioned this problem numerous times, but, once again, no
comment from GW Micro.
Neville.

This is a Windows 7 problem because it does not use a traditional list
view anymore. May I suggest that you use the WE cursor to review the
screen instead of the mouse pointer. In Windows7, the mouse seems to
try
to keep the mouse pointer and the system cursor on the same file. I
have
found that working with the WE pointer instead of the mouse pointer
works much better.

Hi,
Using W7 HP 32, Eloquence, WE 7.5.1
A problem which I have experienced ever since moving to W7 and on two
systems, still exists with the new update.
While using Windows Explorer in a folder of files,I can't move the
mouse cursor to the cursor position with the hot key. Steps taken:
Move the cursor to the required file with either the up or down arrow
or hit the first letter of the filename.
Press numpad insert plus to move the mouse cursor to the current
position.
Unfortunately the mouse pointer is not placed on the cursor position.
However, it does work as it should while in a text or document file.
This problem has been experienced on two diffeerent computers using W7
as above. and has been reported on a number of occasions. But, I am
sorry to say, still exists.
Neville.
