Robin,
You can always find this out by going to File/Factory Settings from the
Window-Eyes control panel. Click "Update Outdated," and you will be
asked what you want to do if Set files are indeed out of date. In
particular, take note of the options relating to dictionaries; you can
choose to keep your existing dictionaries, replace them with the new
factory versions, or merge in your existing definitions. If you have
labeled graphics for certain programs, then choose to merge so your
changes don't get overwritten.

the new set files. If that's true, how would I know whether to backup
old graphics files or such on top. I've never backed up my set files,
graphics files, etc., I just start over with re-labeling things, which
is annoying, but I thought it was the recommended method.

backup the msmail.gra file. every time the wlm app is updated the set file
will be obverwritten because the app has replacement set files in it that
erases your own set file and msmail.gra files.
