While it has been a while since I have used it, I have used Nero Burning Rom for years without any more than minor difficulties. As I recall, it requires mouse navigation for most things, but it is doable. When I needed to back up DVDs, I used AnyDVD ripper to rip the DVDs and then Nero Burning Rom to burn the backups. Things may have changed since I haven't needed to back up a DVD for months, maybe even a year, but in the past the accessibility never changed much, it was always a bit clunky and clumsy, but it got the job done.

Also, for those wanting to copy Audio CDs, Slysoft, the same folks that make AnyDVD have a program called Exact Audio Copy that worked very well and made bit-for-bit copies of audio CDs. I can't speak to the current accessibility since I haven't needed to use it for years and let my license lapse, but it worked great and allowed me to back up a lot of out of print CDs and some newer CDs that were supposed to be uncopyable as well. The bonus to their products is that they offer a free trial on all of their products, so you can try them out. If they would make their burning package included with AnyDVD accessible, it would be the perfect package for DVDs since they have one of the best rippers available, but unfortunately they switched over to a completely graphical format for the burner and it became completely inaccessible.

Anyway, it is possible that Nero Burning Rom has been rendered inaccessible since I last used it, but since it remained accessible while other Nero applications gained and lost accessibility, I think it is likely that it might still be useable if one experiments with using the mouse keys. One detail I just remembered that made it so tricky is that one has to navigate to certain areas like the type of project you want to start like a DVD or CD and then, while the mouse pointer is hovering over the media type, use the arrow keys to navigate the flyover menu that pops up to select the specific type of project you want to start. As I recall, the use of flyover menus is both one of the difficulties to learning how to use it and also one of the things that makes it accessible once you learn how to navigate them. Again, this may have changed and they may have finally done in accessibility completely, but it is worth a try. I've used Nero Burning Rom for a long time and not once had to give money to Nero directly. I always used the latest version from my last optical drive or other hardware purchase that included a copy.

HTH,

Chris

Hi Russ and Everyone,

No, all it says is "System Pull Down" or Move". This is with Nero Burning ROM in Nero 10.

I don't know what the Nero StartSmart does.

It's really not very accessible and it's very confusing, and I would love for someone to challenge me with this issue, and I won't get upset, either, as maybe I would learn something. <smile>

I'll never waste my money again on Nero.

Thanks.

Let me ask you, when you press the alt key, can you access the menu bar? I never had this problem until Nero 10.

Hi Everyone,

While on the subject of copying CD's I want to ask a question.

Is it possible for someone to do a little tutorial on copying CD's,
DVD's, and burning CD's and DVD's with Nero 10?

Since many on this list have said Nero 10 is accessible, I think a
tutorial would be great. It is greatly needed.

I do not like Nero at this point, and unless I'm shown how to use it
very successfully, I would not recommend it to anyone.

I only bought it because I was told it was accessible, and had I
known what I now know, I would have never wasted my money on Nero. It
is very hard to use, and I don't think it's all that accessible, just
my opinion. <smile>

Are there any Aps for Nero?

Now if anyone disagrees with me, that's okay. <smile> I just need to
learn how to use this awful program that I paid for last year.

Thanks much.

Speaking of Nerro 10, Would it be possible for someone from Gw Micro to take a look at the demo version and tell me why when I use the alt key to access the menu bar, WE 7.5.1 won't read it?

I also would love to know how to do this in Windows seven. I often
need to copy CD's and I can't do it, and I still do not like Nero 10
at all, and I find it very cumbersome to use.

I'm still having trouble burning CD's as well.

I can't even figure out how to use InfraRecorder. I guess I'm kind of
stupid. lol.

Any help is greatly appreciated, please.

Thanks much.

Blessings,

I have to copy a number of audio CDs from a master I've made. I've never
done this in Windows 7. Can anyone recommend a quick and easy way to do it
or a small program I can download free that would enable me to duplicate
these quickly? I only have 1 CD drive on my computer, Windows 7 32bit.

Thanks!
