I used XP briefly but from the limited time of using it and when windows 7 came out, I noticed a huge difference, which some of it was listed below.
The start menu feature is good but the ability to pin items to the taskbar was also great. I like the fact that there is an instant search everywhere in windows 7. For me, all around window 7 is far more convenient and quick as it relates to navigation and finding stuff. People get very intimidated with the new OS but in all actuality, its no biggy. www.BlindAccessTraining.com From: Juan Gonzalez [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2011 7:24 AM To: equestrian werewolf; GW-Micro Subject: Re: win 7 accessibility? accessing windows 7 is not to much different than windows xp, the major differences is the start menu, the different folder names like instead of my computer it is just computer, the indexing feature where you can search from anywhere for anything, every thing else is the same as far as I can see, when I first got windows 7 the only thing that threw me off was the start menu, but it wasn't hard to learn. I actually like tabbing in the start menu better than just arrowing down and across to find something. well hope that helps! I would like to know, how people have found accessing windows 7 compared to windows xp please. this is because I am thinking of upgrading my laptop, but can't find any really top spec laptops about with windows xp on them these days, they are all windows 7 ones. so could do with this info, to help me decide whether it is really worth it, or whether I should give it a bit longer, either for better win7 access, or even the next windows version, as I really don't know! am using window-eyes 7.5.1. thanks in advance, for any help received.
