Robert,
Unless the Calibre design has changed, it is a QT-based program. When I
last looked at it, its authors did not enable support for the QT
accessible widgets, and thus it could not be made screen reader
friendly. You might download the QT Support app from App Central and let
us know if Calibre's usability has improved.
