Since I started the thread on this, it's only fair to report back
that after increasing the time tooltips are displayed, I was able to
successfully activate the control in the balloon that informed me of
a Java update today. Whether it's a case of W-E not reporting the
balloon at the very time it pops up or not, I'm not sure, but
important thing is it's working now. --
