For anyone that uses their programs, I've emailed the devs about the program not working with the videos list with WE as expected. They're pretty good about releasing updates, so we'll see if they can address the problem. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Clower" <[email protected]>

Patrick,

It's unfortunately not as cut and dry as that. Just as standard Windows controls can be customized, so too can .net components. Window-Eyes works fine with the standard .net controls, but depending on what changes are made to the control's behavior, there is simply no way to predict how every possible iteration will behave. And let's not even get started on WPF. <grin>

Steve

I noticed since they have updated the program, I encounter the same
issue. I guess I could subscribe to the scripting list to see if someone
could write an app for it. Is there any way future versions of we could
have better support for dot net or will there have to just be apps for
programs that use it? It would be nice if there could be a global app
that supports programs that use that interface as I see a lot of
programs switching to that.

Dave,

The Window-Eyes manual has a detailed section about the Reclass hot
key which should answer all of your questions. To find it, navigate to
Window-Eyes Features/Window-Eyes Hot Keys.

Based on your description of the control, it sounds like this program
is now using .net. A reclass may or may not help, though a custom
Window-Eyes app could likely be made to improve its accessibility.

Steve

Hi List,

So I've been having an adventure with reclassing custom controls, but
this one has me a bit confused. However before I give the class name
itself I have a question regarding class in general. Are custom control
classes in some sort of uniformity? In other words, are there different
categories and hence classes and are they one in the same if so?

Now, I have the youtube to mp3 converter here from dvdvideosoft. This
program used to have a navigable list view with checkboxes to check and
uncheck videos. However, the latest version gives me a custom control
with the following class listed in the reclass box:

--
WindowsForms10.Window.8.app.0.33c0d9d

I am wondering how to decipher this class? If I make it a list view,
even with a video loaded into the program, the nothing appears. I am
not sure if a hyperactive window is necessary, or some sort of user
window in this case to possibly emulate the old program's behavior?
I'd rather not go back to the old version because of the improved
performance
of the newer one.

And, last question on this issue, should I send a screen shot if the
class information is not enough?

Dave c. bahrthanks, i hope that all made some sort of sense.
