if you mean the start up scan for nod, that can be turnned off.
also i have really never had any problems with slow downs from nod32, what is 
the big difference between nod and viper anyway?

scans. Viper does not do that. Just try both programs. If one works better then 
the other then you have your choice. However, Viper gets everything that most 
anti-virus programs don't get. I guess what I am trying to ask is what more
