Dave has a good point. When I want to select a paragraph from a webpage, I am only able to select the text sentence by sentence. If I paste the copied text in a word file, the copied text is presented as separate sentences within word, so I have to delete the line separations to get a paragraph. A time consuming work, so I use NVDA if I have to select a lot of text from the web. Unfortunately it is beneficial to switch screen reader when performing such a task. It would be great and more efficient if it will become possible to perform such a task using Window- eyes.
From: Dave Bahr <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: envoking the select text ap Hi list, It has occured to me that it would be very beneficial to use the Select Text ap when on a webpage, I need to send a large table of data to someone. Trying to cut and paste it and then find it in a word doc is a very time consuming process. I'm wondering if there is some way that I could envoke the ap to act on a webpage as if it were a standard document with which to select the beginning and end of the table? If there is not such a function, is it possible that one could be added in future? Or is it too difficult to predict the behavior of an ap written for one specific window, in this case a word document, and not for a non-standard window such as a browser window? -- Dave c. bahr Met vriendelijke groet, Menno Schaap Victorieplein 22-I 1078 PE amsterdam The Netherlands M: +31 (0)6 45 548 956 If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
